Museum of the American Revolution: une autre raison de vous rendre à Philadelphie

Un tout nouveau musée vient tout juste d'ouvrir ses portes et il présente une vision de on semble y présentée un récit moins patriotique et plus appuyé sur le fruit de la recherche de spécialistes. J'enseigne chaque année cette période de l'histoire américaine en expliquant la complexité de la situation et les significations différentes pour les nombreux intervenants. L'indépendance américaine ne résulte pas d'un mouvement populaire qui rejoint tous les coloniaux et les débats qui ont animé les débuts de la jeune nation peuvent éclairer les débats actuels. Je suis déjà bien curieux et j'ai hâte d'aller constater le résultat des travaux qui ont nécessité 150 millions de dollars, essentiellement des investissements du privé.
